The Validation Meeting on Teaching of the Chinese-foreign Cooperatively-run School "Stirling College, Chengdu University" Is Held Successfully

On the afternoon of August 17, the validation meeting on teaching of the Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school "Stirling College, Chengdu University" was successfully held in Conference Room D209 of Stirling College. Professor Neville Wylie, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Stirling, External Reviewer Dr. Neil Hart, Director of Transnational Education at De Montfort University, and Internal Academic Reviewer Dr. Louise Mc Cabe, and other academic experts in teaching from the UK, fully assessed the teaching and preparation of the Stirling College.

Peng Xiaolin, Vice President of Chengdu University, Duncan Collis, Foreign Dean of Stirling College, and the relevant staff in charge of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Office of Academic Affairs, Stirling College, College of Computing, College of Literature and Journalism, College of Physical Education attended the meeting.

During the meeting, members of the British review committee asked questions about the design of the talent training program, the teaching content and teaching methods of the Chinese and English curricula, the awarding of degrees, student support and services, and the preparation of teaching software and hardware facilities of Stirling College, Chengdu University. The heads of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Stirling College gave professional and detailed explanations on related issues. Afterwards, the British educational evaluation experts gave feedback on the academic review and preparation of the Stirling College and spoke highly of it. Professor Neville Wylie said that Stirling College is a new journey of cooperation between Chengdu University and the University of Stirling, and both sides will actively explore and integrate their experiences in teaching and management to promote the smooth and sound development of the project.

It's known that in accordance with the requirements of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, all educational cooperation projects planned to award degrees from UK higher education institutions outside the UK must be thoroughly reviewed by a review committee comprising representatives of the institution, external assessors and internal academic representatives, etc. on the conditions of operation, quality of teaching, and student support of the relevant overseas educational institutions. The online validation meeting with the British side is a review of the cooperation between the two sides, indicating that "Stirling College, Chengdu University" has been recognized by the educational authorities and educational quality control departments of both China and UK, and the two sides have entered a new phase of formal cooperation.
