Chengdu University (CDU), founded in 1978, is one of the first full-time general undergraduate universities sponsored by local cities following China's reform and opening up. CDU implements a university system that involves provincial and municipal co-administration and municipal operations. It is a key university in Sichuan Province and Chengdu City, the host university of the Athletes Village of the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games, and a FISU-certified "Healthy Campus" with a silver label. CDU has the authority to award bachelor's and master's degrees and has established postdoctoral research centers. It was selected by the Ministry of Education (MoE) for the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", recognized by MoE as a featured higher education institution for national defense education, and included in MoE's “Double Ten Thousand Plan” for first-class undergraduate programs. Moreover, it is one of Sichuan's prioritized universities for awarding doctoral degrees. By 2024, more than 4,600 international students from 78 countries have graduated from CDU, and CDU has been awarded as one of “Sichuan Demonstration Bases for International Education”.
The university welcomes international students from around the globe, offering degree programs on bachelor and master’s levels, as well as non-degree education.The application of degree programs for 2025 autumn will be available right now. The bachelor and master's degree application programs cover a total of 19 majors in 7 colleges, including Business School, School of Tourism and Culture Industry, and College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts (School of Fine Arts and Design),etc..
I. Eligibility Criteria
1. Non-Chinese citizens aged 18 years or older holding a valid ordinary passport.
2. Those who were previously Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality must comply with MoE’s Notice on Regulating Admission of International Students in China's Higher Education Institutions (JWH [2020] No. 12).
3. Applicants must have the equivalent of the academic qualifications required to apply for a degree programs (senior high school diploma or above for bachelor degree application and bachelor's degree or above for master degree application).
4. Applicants are required to meet the language standards corresponding to specfic program’s requirement.
5. Applicants shall comply with Chinese laws and regulations as well as CDU's rules and policies.
6. Applicants should be in good health.

1. Online Registration: Applicants shall create an account on Chengdu University's official website (English version) during the application period and complete all required information accurately, along with the necessary document submissions.

Ⅳ. Addmission
According to the principle of comprehensive evaluation of moral, intellectual, and physical qualities, selecting the best candidates, ensuring quality, and preferring vacancies over substandard admissions, qualified applicants will be admitted after thorough review. Admission notices will be issued within 30 working days. Art program applicants will undergo a professional aptitude test after enrollment.

VI. Required Application Materials
1.A copy of the highest educational degree certificate and notarized document.
2.A copy of transcript(high school transcripts for bachelor’s program applicants and undergraduate transcripts for master's program applicants).
3.A personal statement detailing your self-introduction, educational background, as well as objectives and plans of study in China.
4.For applicants in arts-related majors, submission of academic works is required.
5.Two recommendation letters from associate professors or above (required for Master's program applicants, if unable to provide, an interview by the college will be required).
6.A copy of your passport.
7. A copy of your recent health examination report (within the last six months).
8. A copy of your police clearance (within the last six months)..
9. A recent (within three months) electronic photograph, passport-style, with no hat and a white background.
10. A financial guarantee letter issued within the last two months(bank deposit should be RMB 30,000 or more).
11. A copy of the HSK certificate or IELTS/TOEFL certificate (within past two years) .
12. A copy of the transfer proof and current visa or residence permit (if the applicant is holding a visa issued by another Chinese university).
13. Additional materials and requirements may be requested by the university if deemed necessary, including interviews.

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship |
The "International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship" is provided to international students in majors of Chinese Language and Culture、Chinese Language and Literature、Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages as an international education for one academic year or one semester. |
The scholarship supports tuition, accommodation, living allowance (excluding four-week study program students) and comprehensive medical insurance.The living allowance for one-year study program students and one-semester study program students is RMB 2,500/month per person. |
*Complete registration procedures within the designated time frame as specified by the university. Failure to report without prior approval will result in automatic forfeiture of student status and cancellation of the scholarship. Students who retain their admission status will not retain the scholarship eligibility.
*Non-recipients of the Chengdu ASEAN Art Scholarship must fully pay the annual tuition fees, accommodation fees and other fees in advance.
*Scholarship recipients must participate in the annual scholarship evaluation as required. Those who receive an unsatisfactory evaluation may have their scholarship suspended or disqualified.
*Regardless of the application outcome, submitted application materials will not be returned.
*Each student is only allowed to apply for only one type of scholarship.
