On the morning of December 8, Professor Zhang Yi was appointed as Honorary Dean of the School of Computer Science of Chengdu University. He is a founding member, the deputy secretary-general, and an executive director of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI). He also serves as Chairman of the Sichuan Association for Artificial Intelligence (SAAI), and the chief scientist of artificial intelligence of Sichuan University. He is an expert entitled to the Special Government Allowance of the State Council. President Wang Qingyuan issued an appointment letter to Zhang Yi, and Vice President Tang Yiqian attended the appointment ceremony. He has been deeply involved in the field of artificial intelligence and artificial neural network for more than 20 years, and won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award in 2019, the first prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, and the first prize of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award. He presided over the 2030 science and technology innovation major project - "New Generation Artificial Intelligence" of the Ministry of Science and Technology and key project on big data of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He served as the director of Sichuan Big Data Collaborative Innovation Center in 2011 and the director of Sichuan Network Big Data Cognitive Analysis Engineering Laboratory.
