Confucius Institute of Chengdu University Raised Money and Bought Supplies for Panmdemic Prevention and Control

Recently, the Confucius Institute at the University of New Hampshire in the United States, while ensuring the normal operation of teaching, is concerned with the motherland, and actively raises money and buys supplies, and makes concerted efforts to fight the pandemic.

As of the morning of February 7th, upon the joint appeal of Chinese and American presidents Liu Yaling and Wang Yige, the Confucius Institutehaveraised donations of USD 4,393, RMB 1,900 and some masks. With the help of local Chinese in the United States, teachers and students of the University of New Hampshire, and community people, the Confucius Institute has successively purchased 5,000 pairs of surgical gloves, 4,000 surgical masks, 50 sets of conjoined protective clothing, 285 sets of disposable protective clothing and 500 sets of surgical clothing. The first batch of materials (5,000 pairs of surgical gloves, 2,000 surgical masks and 50 sets of conjoined protective clothing) have arrived at Confucius Institute.

On the morning of the February 7th, Confucius Institute received 115 masks and a freight sponsorship of USD 50 donated by American colleagues from Portsmouth High School, a subordinate Confucius Classroom. These materials, together with 285 sets of disposable protective clothing, were sent by express delivery on the afternoon of February 6th and are expected to arrive in Chengdu next week. The remaining 500 surgical clothing and 2,000 surgical masks will be sent out one after another upon arrival. Teachers, students and the public at the University of New Hampshire are always concerned about the pandemic situation in China, expecting the turning point to come as soon as possible.
