On December 17, the Chengdu Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Chengdu Bureau of Expo Affairs) worked with the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Chengdu University and Meetings China Magazine to jointly establish the world’s first Center for International Meetings Research and Training (CIMERT) supported by ICCA (hereinafter referred to as the Center). As China’s first innovative international cooperation mode to develop deep integration of government, universities, conferences and media, the Center will provide intellectual support, personnel training and industry development consulting services for the development of conference industry in Asia-Pacific region and even the whole world, and is also a major measure of Chengdu University in its efforts to introduce top international resources to promote the construction of Chengdu as an international convention and exhibition capital.
