On October 4, 2019 local time, Confucius Institute of Chengdu University and College of Humanities ofUniversity of New Hampshire, co-hosted the 7th New Hampshire Language Convention.This convention aimsat improving the foreign-language teaching, facilitating students' cross-cultural ability and promoting multi-cultural development in New Hampshire. More than 60 linguistic teachers from multiple universities, primary and middle schools, Confucius Institutes, Confucius Classrooms and Confucius learning stations in New Hampshire and its neighboring states came to attend the convention. Liu Yaling, the Chinese director of Confucius Institute fromChengdu University, presided over this convention.
Ph.D.Gisela Hoecherl-Alden, Director of Languages Department of Boston University, was invited to make a special lecture entitled “Developing Visual and Cultural Literacy in a Second Language ”.In the afternoon, Professor Sara Zela from College of Humanities of University of New Hampshire expounded the exhibited artwork, and Ph.D. Gisela Hoecherl-Alden introduced the exhibits in the museum.
