On the morning of June 25, Hasan Çapan, President of the Turkish Chinese Friendship Foundation, led a delegation to visit Chengdu University. Zhu Ming, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chengdu University, held talks with the guests in Conference Room A316 of the Administrative Support Center. Liu Xianfeng, Vice President of Chengdu University, also attended the meeting.

Zhu Ming extended a warm welcome to Mr. Hasan and his delegation on their return visit to Chengdu University. He pointed out that educational cooperation is an important part of China-Turkey collaboration. With the introduction of Mr. Hasan, Chengdu University has established preliminary cooperative ties with Istanbul Aydin University. He expressed willingness to take this visit as an opportunity to promote in-depth cooperation in Chinese-foreign cooperative education, faculty exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and technology transfer.
Zhu Ming said that Chengdu University has distinct disciplinary advantages and distinctive featurs in coarse grain breeding and processing, as well as food processing. He suggested that the university could strengthen cooperation with the West Yak Industry Group in food processing and related fields, and develop an integrated industrial chain spanning “food, medicine, healthcare and wellness”, which aligns with Turkey’s future development strategy and offers broad prospects for cooperation. He also look forward to both sides expanding breadth and depth of their cooperation in cultural creativity, film and television, and other fields.
Hasan Çapan expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and fully recognized the achievements of Chengdu University in internationalized education and educational innovation. He showed great interest in traditional Chinese medicine practices such as acupuncture and moxibustion. Mr. Hasan stated that the Turkish Chinese Friendship Foundation had long been committed to promoting high-level exchanges between Turkey and China. In 2025, it successfully held cultural activities, including the "Chinese Film Festival" in Istanbul, which greatly enhanced Turkish people's understanding of Chinese culture. The Foundation will fully support exchanges and cooperation between Turkey and China in education, scientific research, culture, economy and trade, and other fields. Mr. Hasan noted that the Foundation plans to establish a branch in Sichuan Province, and Mr. Xie Longfei, General Manager of West Yak Industry Group Co., Ltd., will serve as its first president. It is expected that the branch will serve as a local hub to facilitate friendly bilateral exchanges.
This visit marks Mr. Hasan's second trip to our university following his first visit in November 2024. From the initial meeting to the current stage, the two sides have reached multiple consensuses on specific cooperation directions, with cooperation steadily deepening and yielding concrete outcomes. This meeting has laid a solid foundation for further practical cooperation between our university and Turkish universities and enterprises.
After the meeting, the two sides also held in-depth discussions on follow-up cooperation.
Representatives from West Yak Industry Group Co., Ltd., the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and the College of Food and Biological Engineering attended the meeting.
