On July 16, representing Sichuan Province, the choir of CDU participated in the closing performance of "Bond with Kuliang: 2025 China-U.S. Youth Choir Festival" at the China National Opera House in Beijing. Peng Xiaolin, Vice President of CDU, attended the exchange event.

The "Yi Song," performed by the choir of Chengdu University, vividly showcases the charm of ethnic music in China, highlighting the inheritance and innovation of traditional culture by young people, which won warm applause from the audience. In addition, the CDU choir also joined choirs from China and the United States in performing classic songs such as "Jasmine Flower," "Ode to Peace," and "We Are the World." Teenagers from different cultural backgrounds collaborated seamlessly on stage, fully demonstrating the power of music to transcend national boundaries and convey the message of peace.

During their visit to Beijing, our students also participated in face-to-face exchanges with teenagers from Sichuan Province's sister cities and states, including Washington, California, and Utah in the United States. Together, they engaged in discussions about the future from a youth perspective.

The heads of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and School of Music and Dance participated in the exchange activities as well.
From July 9 to 18, the festival was held in Fuzhou and Beijing under the theme "Sing for Peace." Co-sponsored by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Fujian Provincial People's Government, the event brought together nearly 30 youth choirs from China and the United States to foster friendships. As the largest thematic China-U.S. youth exchange program since the launch of the initiative to "invite 50,000 young Americans to China for exchange and study programs over the next five years," the festival featured a diverse array of activities, including visits, performances, master classes, and flash mobs. Over the course of ten days filled with musical collaboration and cultural dialogue, nearly 1,000 young participants from both nations deepened their mutual understanding, bringing new energy to the friendship between China and the United States.
