Lord McConnell, Chancellor of the University of Stirling, Led a Delegation to Visit Our University

      Recently, Lord Jack McConnell, Chancellor of the University of Stirling, led a delegation on a visit to our university. Zhu Ming, President of the university, met with the guests in Conference Room 101 of the Student Activity Center. Also attending the meeting was Peng Xiaolin, Vice President of the university.

Zhu Ming extended a warm welcome to Lord McConnell and his delegation, reflecting on the journey of the two universities in jointly establishing and developing Stirling College since 2019. He highlighted the remarkable achievements made by both institutions in specialized fields such as leisure sports, data science, and big data technology. Zhu Ming expressed his hope that, building on the existing partnership, the two universities would further expand and deepen cooperation, promote joint graduate training, accelerate scientific collaboration and the translation of research outcomes, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit.

Lord McConnell spoke highly of the accomplishments achieved through the collaboration between the two universities. He particularly noted that in 2025, Stirling College, CDU welcomed its first cohort of graduates, whose outstanding qualities demonstrated the notable success of the joint education model. He stated that the University of Stirling will fully leverage its strengths in health sciences and sports to enhance cooperation with CDU in cutting-edge research areas such as sports science and environmental sustainability.

The meeting was also attended by officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Stirling College, CDU.
