Stirling College Holds the First Collaborative Management Committee Meeting 2024-2025

On the afternoon of December 19, Stirling College held the first collaborative management committee meeting 2024-2025 online, which is the highest decision-making meeting for Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools. Zhu Ming, President of Chengdu University, Peng Xiaolin, Vice President of Chengdu University, and Neville Wylie, the Deputy Principal (Internationalization) of the University of Stirling attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Yu Xi, Dean of Stirling College of Chengdu University.

Zhu Ming delivered a speech as Chairman of the Collaborative Management Committee and introduced the recent development of Chengdu University. He said that Chengdu University has deepened university-city integration and empowered high-quality development, registering a series of promising achievements. Stirling College is a major achievement of four years of sincere cooperation and co-construction between Chengdu University and the University of Stirling. The college has made remarkable progress in many key areas such as the refinement of teaching management, the implementation of humanized student management and the collaborative innovation of discipline development. Stirling College will have its first batch of graduate students next year. It is expected that the two sides will give full play to their respective advantages, work more closely together in various fields, and cultivate more talents with international vision and comprehensive quality for the future.

In his speech as a Vice President, Neville Wylie said that in the summer of 2024, the University of Stirling has formulated a new strategic plan to guide its development for the next decade and empower its motto "Be the Difference". He mentioned that in early December, Wu Yan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education of China, and his delegation visited the University of Stirling in the United Kingdom and had a deep understanding of Stirling College of Chengdu University co-organized by the two sides, and expressed expectations for the future development of the college. Stirling College will have its first batch of graduate students next year, which is a milestone in the cooperation between the two sides. It is expected that the two universities will work together to do a good job in talent training to further expand and deepen cooperation.

Yu Xi, Waseem Ahmed Abbasi, the British Executive Dean of Stirling College and Vice President Wang Jueyin respectively reported on the student recruitment 2024, annual financial review, teaching management and HR matters. The Collaborative Management Committee has approved 8 major topics to guide the development of the college.

Heads and related teachers of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Office of Academic Affairs, Finance Department and Stirling College of Chengdu University, Office of Internationalization and External Cooperation, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport, Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Stirling attended the meeting.
