President of France EPF Engineering School Visits CDU

On the morning of October 16, the delegation led by Emmanuel Duflos, President of France EPF Engineering School, visited CDU. Hu Xiuqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CDU, warmly received the guests in Meeting Room C314 of the Administrative Service Center.

Hu Xiuqiang first extended a warm welcome to President Duflos and his delegation on behalf of Chengdu University, and briefly introduced the history, school-running orientation, discipline construction, faculty, and talent training results of the University. He pointed out that Chengdu University has gathered a high-level faculty, continuously promoted the high-quality development of teaching and scientific research, and provided solid support for high-quality talent training and scientific research innovation. He stressed that it was the first time for President Duflos to visit Chengdu University after taking office, which reflected his great importance to bilateral cooperation. This visit will not only further deepen the friendship between the two universities, but also lay a solid foundation for future comprehensive cooperation. He said that 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, which provides a valuable historic opportunity for cooperation between the two universities. He looked forward to in-depth cooperation with EPF in student exchanges, joint training of postgraduates, scientific research cooperation, and other aspects, so as to seek common development hand in hand and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Emmanuel Dufros expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and briefly introduced the history, majors, and scientific research advantages of the EPF. As a well-known engineering education institution in France, EPF Engineering School adheres to the concept of international development and has established close cooperation with many universities around the world. The School has strong academic and scientific research capabilities in frontier fields such as data engineering, environmental energy, architectural design, and engineering management. They are looking forward to cooperating with Chengdu University in many dimensions, including mutual visits between teachers and students, joint research on scientific research projects, short-term exchanges, and dual-degree programs. He hoped that through the joint efforts of the two universities, they would promote cooperation in engineering education, enhance students' global perspectives, and cultivate highly skilled engineering professionals capable of meeting global challenges.

After the meeting, the guests visited Stirling College and the Institute for Advanced Study. Relevant heads of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Stirling College attended the meeting.
