Wallapa Songprakun, Vice President of Payap University, along with a delegation, visited Chengdu University (CDU) on the morning of October 15. Hu Xiuqiang, Full-time Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CDU, warmly received the guests in Meeting Room C314 of the Administrative Service Center. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on educational cooperation.
Hu extended a cordial welcome to the guests and provided an overview of CDU, covering its history, discipline development, faculty members, and strategies for internationalization. He pointed out that CDU has steadfastly honored its pledge to "rooting in Chengdu, basing on Sichuan, facing the world, and serving society". The university is committed to promoting international education, with established cooperative relations with more than 180 universities across more than 40 countries and regions, particularly with higher educational institutions in ASEAN countries, especially Thailand. Hu reviewed cooperation cases over recent years, including teacher visits, student exchange programs, academic research, scientific research, etc. He noted that the coming year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between the China-Thailand . He hoped both sides would foster continuous and in-depth bilateral cooperation by providing a more favorable environment for these activities. This effort aims to stimulate the robust development of higher education between China and Thailand.
Wallapa Songprakun expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the University. She noted that since the memorandum of cooperation was signed between Payap University and CDU in 2019, both institutions have laid a strong foundation for collaboration across various fields. Specifically, there have been in-depth exchanges with the School of Music and Dance of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts concerning joint doctoral training programs. She mentioned that CDU has made remarkable achievements in international development, talent cultivation, and scientific research and innovation over recent years. These accomplishments fully show its influence on regional and even global educational cooperation. Looking ahead, it is hoped that both universities will strengthen cooperation in short-term group exchanges involving teachers and students, joint doctoral programs, scientific research, and other areas, to contribute to developing education, culture, and science and technology in both countries.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Music and Dance of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts.
Leaders of the College of Music and the International College of Payap University also attended the visit. Relevant persons in charge from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, as well as the School of Music and Dance and the School of Tourism and Culture Industry at the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts, attended the above activities.
