On September 12, Clarivate Analytics released the latest ESI data for September 2024，in which Chengdu University’s Pharmacology & Toxicology discipline entered the Top 1% globally. This marks that the discipline has now reached the international first-class status, showcasing the strength and global influence of the university’s Pharmacology&Toxicology filed. Since the engineering disciplines of Chengdu University first entered the global top 1% of ESI in January 2022, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Clinical Medicine, and Pharmacology & Toxicology have been shortlisted in the global top 1% of ESI one after another. Currently, Chengdu University has six disciplines in the global top 1% of ESI, ranking 5th among universities in Sichuan Province. It reflects the high-quality development of discipline construction at Chengdu University.
In the latest ESI data, Chengdu University has 250 highly cited papers, ranking 4th among universities in Sichuan. In its Pharmacology & Toxicology, a total of 284 papers have been published, with a citation amount of 4,030, ranking 1265th globally. In its disciplines of Engineering, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, and Clinical Medicine, already shortlisted in the global Top 1% in ESI, have certain improvements in cited papers compared with the previous issue. Specifically, the total number of Engineering papers is 1,144, with a total citation frequency of 18,129 times, ranking 819th globally, up 22 places. The total number of Agricultural Science papers is 708, with a total citation frequency of 10,551, ranking 500th and up 18 places. The total number of Chemical papers is 1,282, with a total citation frequency of 21,827, ranking 988th globally and up 29 places. The total number of Materials Science papers is 1,257, with a total citation frequency of 16,815, ranking 878th globally and up 46 places. The total number of papers on Clinical Medicine is 440, with a total citation frequency of 4,793, ranking 5,759th globally and up 83 places. All these show a sound development momentum of Chengdu University in discipline construction.
