From December 1 to 4, the 16th International Conference on Cutting-Edge Organic Chemistry in Asia was held in Singapore. Co-hosted by the National University of Singaporeand Nanyang Technological University, the Conference was attended by nearly 200 internationally renowned experts and scholars from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. In the Conference, Professor Li Junlong from the School of Pharmacy at Chengdu University (CDU) and Sichuan Industrial Institute of Antibiotics did a presentation on the topic of "Remote Site-selective Arene C-H Functionalization Enabled by N-Heterocyclic Carbene Organocatalysis", and won the Asian Core Program Lectureship Award. The recipients of the Award will receive funding in the coming year for an academic lecture tour to three or more universities or relevant research institutes in the host country.
