The 31st Chengdu FISU Games officially closed on the evening of August 8. More than 6,500 athletes left the FISU Games Village one after another. On the morning of August 11, the FISU Games Village officially closed after the last four delegations of Argentina, Turkmenistan, Brazil and the United States left the Village.

Wang Fengchao, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the 31st Chengdu FISU Games, Liu Xiaoliu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, Executive Vice Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government and Head of the FISU Games Village, and Liu Qiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chengdu University (CDU) and Executive Head of the FISU Games Village attended the closing ceremony. Dai Zhiyong, Secretary-General of Chengdu Municipal People's Government and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the 31st Chengdu FISU Games, and Dong Yunfan, Deputy Secretary-General of Chengdu Municipal People's Government, Director of General Office of Chengdu Municipal People's Government and Deputy Head of the FISU Games Village attended it. The attendees also included Qiu Wei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcast-TV, and Tourism, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the FISU Games Village of the Executive Committee of the 31st Chengdu FISU Games and Executive Head of the FISU Games Village, and Professor Liu Qingzao, Chief Expert of the FISU Games Village, as well as all executive deputy heads of the FISU Games Village, delegation team leaders, business managers, deputy managers, staff members and volunteer representatives in the FISU Games Village.

Wang Fengchao delivered a warm speech. On behalf of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and Chengdu Municipal People's Government, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to all staff members and volunteers in the FISU Games Village for their hard work. He said that the success of the 31st Chengdu FISU Games is attributed to the meticulous attention and exceptional foresight of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and relevant national ministries and commissions, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province. This is also credited to the support of the whole country and the collaborative endeavors of Sichuan and Chengdu. Wang Fengchao said that from the opening of the FISU Games Village on July 22 to the closing on August 11, all staff members and volunteers worked hard, with enthusiastic and professional services, and warm and friendly attitudes, to ensure the success of the 31st Chengdu FISU Games. " the 31st Chengdu FISU Games looks wonderful with you, and we are proud to have you in Chengdu!" he said.

Since its opening on July 22, the FISU Games Village has hosted more than 7,400 athletes and accompanying officials from 113 countries and regions. As the largest non-competition venue of the 31st Chengdu FISU Games, the FISU Games Village is among the venues that provide 24-hour services for athletes and accompanying officials. A total of 32,216 individuals have participated in cultural experience activities such as evening galas, and more than 59,000 have used commercial service facilities in the Village. A total of 20,143 individuals have used the fitness center and 1,099 have enjoyed the services provided by the medical team in the FISU Games Village. The high-quality services featuring zero complaints, zero accidents and zero mistakes have won the praise of foreign delegations and delivered a satisfactory result for the 31st Chengdu FISU Games.

Over the past 12 days, athletes have experienced hotel-style services during the Games and enjoyed considerate services ranging from travel safety to express delivery, having a more comfortable and convenient city experience.

In the departure lounge, staff members in the FISU Games Village provided athletes with shuttle bus and luggage delivery services, including shuttle bus allocation, check-in counter service, boarding passes printing and check-in procedure handling. Athletes were served with targeted services to avoid long waiting time. Their departure and ticket booking information was also displayed in real time.

Inside the village, the staff members, volunteers and athletes have been together for more than 10 days in the Village and we all bid farewell to each other by sending small gifts and throwing simple but warm farewell parties, hoping that athletes would return to their motherland safely with the best wishes of China.

After the closure of the FISU Games, CDU will make full use of the FISU Games legacy by developing special disciplines, promoting the comprehensive utilization of venues and enhancing international exchanges and cooperation. The FISU Games Athletes’ Village will be immediately handed over to CDU after closure.

It is expected that, by the end of September, the FISU Games Athletes’ Village can be opened to the public by appointment to visit the Welcome Centre, Flag Plaza, Athlete Dining Halls, model rooms of Apartment Buildings and other spaces of the Village. At the same time, the the Medical Center of the Village will provide the surrounding public with medical services based on the Affiliated Hospital of CDU.
