On June 28, the Award Ceremony of the 2023 Telling China's Stories—"Foreign Cultural Trade" Talent Selection Competition for International Students in China and the Launching Ceremony of Entrepreneurship Training for Returned Students was held in Beijing. The event was sponsored by the Center for International Culture Communication of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and Sinolingua Co., Ltd, and organized by Beijing Huayu Time Culture Media Co., Ltd. The competition attracted over 8,000 international students from nearly 100 countries and more than 400 colleges and universities. After a thorough review process, 50 Excellent Organization Awards, 42 Excellent Instructor Awards, 47 Cultural Mutual Learning And Friendship Awards, 22 Cultural Communication Vitality Awards, 19 Cultural Promotion Contribution Awards, and 3 Cultural Promotion Excellence Awards were selected.

With the meticulous guidance of their instructors, a total of 18 international students from Chengdu University (CDU) received awards in the competition. Dao Wending, an international student from CDU's College of Overseas Education under the guidance of Instructor Wang Yanzhi, was awarded the Cultural Promotion Contribution Award. Ma Lin and Mo Xiaolan, international students from CDU's College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts under the guidance of instructors Wan Qun, Wang Jue and Chen Tian, were honored with the Cultural Communication Vitality Awards. In addition, 15 international students from CDU's College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts won the Cultural Mutual Learning and Friendship Awards. Nine instructors, namely Wang Yanzhi, Feng Yubing, Wang Jue, Wu Jiapei, Ran Yisong, Liu Qidong, Wanqun, Chen Tian and Liu Tong were awarded the Excellent Instructor Awards. CDU ranked high among over 400 participating colleges and universities and was honored with the Outstanding Organization Award for Colleges and Universities.

The event has gained strong support from numerous domestic colleges and universities, and attracted widespread attention and active participation among international students in China. These remarkable responses truly reflect their profound admiration for Chinese culture. The exceptional achievements made by teachers and students from CDU in the competition exemplify their proactive implementation of the principles emphasized by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his significant speeches at the Symposium on Cultural Inheritance and Development, as well as his influential series of speeches on the preservation and development of Chinese culture. These achievements also demonstrated their relentless endeavors to safeguard and inherit the exceptional traditional Chinese culture, while also innovating and promoting its global presence. In the next phase, CDU will maintain its focus on the development of international students, enhance the quality and efficiency of their education, and provide more opportunities for them to showcase China's exceptional culture through diverse activities.
