On March 17, Taek-Dong Yeo, Director of the Office of the International Cooperation and Exchanges, Yeungnam University, and his delegation was on a visit to Chengdu University (CDU) and had in-depth exchanges on the further cooperation and exchanges between the two universities. Du Jie, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of CDU, and relevant staff gave the guests a warm reception and had cordial and friendly exchanges.
Du Jie extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Yeungnam University, and outlined the results CDU has achieved through the implementation of internationalization strategy and through cooperation and exchanges with Yeungnam University. She said that as one of the important partners of CDU, Yeungnam University has made remarkable achievements in Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, exchanges between faculties and students and talent training since 2015. She also expected that the two universities will work together to apply for cooperation projects including the CAMPUS Asia led by China, Japan and South Korea, so as to provide more opportunities for faculties and students to enhance understanding and broaden perspectives. Taek-Dong Yeo thanked CDU for its warm reception, highly complimented the work of the two universities regarding Chinese-foreign cooperation programs in running schools, cultivation of international students, and faculty exchanges, and gave a detailed account of the competitive majors and future-oriented emerging majors of Yeungnam University. He hoped that the two universities will further deepen friendly cooperation on the strength of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running school projects and new cooperation programs such as CAMPUS Asia, and leverage internationalization strategy to boost their new development. The two universities soon afterwards had in-depth exchanges on the development of TOPIK (the Test of Proficiency in Korean) testing sites, cooperative courses, student competitions, mutual visits between faculties and students, as well as mutual recognition of credits. The two sides agreed to build a platform for further cooperation between them with business and architecture as bridges.
Attendees at the meeting include Deng Lina, Vice Dean and Deputy Secretary of the Overseas Education College, Yang Xi, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Wang Jing, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering. After the meeting, the guests also paid a visit to the Overseas Education College and the Athletes’ Village for the 31st FISU Summer World University Games.
