Recently, the 9th Chengdu Creativity & Design Week officially kicked off with the main activity – Golden Panda Tianfu Creative Design Awards 2022, attracting wide attention. The event was sponsored by Chengdu Municipal People's Government and organized by Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcast -TV, and Tourism and Chengdu Media Group.The competition aims to fully stimulate the potential and vitality of Chengdu's cultural tourism consumption, and create and launch a number of Chengdu Gifts with unique Chengdu elements and commemorative significance. Therefore, it has set up a special award of Happy Tianfu Chengdu Gift for works that enjoy the cultural elements of Chengdu, promote the popularity of Chengdu, and have the leading value in cultural and creative IP construction of Chengdu. After online voting and expert review, the horizontal project,the Cultural and Creative Product Panda on Trip Series with the theme of Beautiful Sichuan, hosted by Tian Haisu, stood out from thousands of works and won the gold award of the special prize of Happy Tianfu: Chengdu Gifts.
In the spring of 2021, Tian Haisu, a teacher from the College ofOverseas Education at Chengdu University (CDU), was particularly invited by the Health Commission of Sichuan Province and Sichuan Provincial Big Data Center to create carousel images for the home page of the Sichuan Tianfu Health Code. After twenty days of hard work, Tian Haisu finally completed the work of Panda on Trip, with twelve images themed on famous cultural landmarks in Sichuan. From Wuhou Shrine to Du Fu Thatched Cottage, from Kuanzhai Alley to Tianfu International Airport, Tian created different Chinese ink paintings for the cultural landmarks and matched those with the original IP image of pandas, which not only demonstrates the cultural heritage of Chengdu, but also fully reflectsthewarmth andartistry of Chengdu.
One year later, Tian Haisu made her debut at the special award of Happy Tianfu: Chengdu Gifts with a series of cultural and creative products of Panda on Trip.She created exquisite cultural and creative products with Chinese ink paintings by launching 12 carousel images for the homepage of the website and 5 popular science animations for the Healthy China Initiative. As a result, Panda on Trip was made as a cultural derivative. Three types of Panda on Trip were launched during the competition, namely Panda on Trip to Wuhou Shrine, Panda on Trip to Sanxingdui, and Panda on Trip to Jiuzhai Valley. Dressed in different costumes with different cultures, the pandas all carry travel backpacks with easily-recognizable and cute features that depict Three Kingdoms culture, Ancient Shu culture and ethnic culture.
Spreading Chinese culture and telling attractive stories of Chengdu has always been the driving force for Tian Haisu to move forward.She made Chengdu a trending topic on social media with twelve pictures of Panda on Trip, and her creation of Tianfu Panda was selected by Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcast-TV, and Tourism as the awarding mark of 100 tourist attractions of New Tourism: Fashionable Chengdu.
After winning the gold award, Tian Haisu will continue to carry out this horizontal scientific research project as planned to promote the cooperation betweenCDU and ICBC Sichuan Branch to complete the high-quality transformation of R&D achievements.Given the Tianfu Health Code, the Travel Landmarks of Fashionable Chengdu, or the 31st FISU Summer World University Games, Tian Haisu is servingoursociety with her professionalismin art and creativity, andcontributing to her favorite city with the concept of aesthetic education.
