From November 19 to 20, the International Academic Symposium of “Mutual Learning of Civilizations & Literature Communication and the 13th Annual Conference of the Sichuan Comparative Literature Association were held online. The conference was hosted by the Sichuan Comparative Literature Association, Sichuan University (“Innovation 2035” Research Program on Mutual Learning of Civilizations & Global Governance) and Chengdu University (CDU), and organized by the College of Literature and Journalism, Research Center for Mutual Learning of Civilizations & the Belt and Road Initiative”, and CDU Journal Center.

Attendees and speakers at the opening ceremony were Wang Hongxin, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee; Yao Leye, Vice President of Sichuan University; Ye Shuxian, President of Chinese Comparative Literature Association; Cao Shunqing, President of Sichuan Comparative Literature Association; Yang Yuhua, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Committee and Vice President of CDU, among others. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wang Xiaojun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of CDU.

The conference has comprised nine sub-forums, including "Mutual Learning of Civilizations & Cultural Diversity", "Mutual Learning of Civilizations & Dialogue between China and the West", "Mutual Learning of Civilizations & Discourse Reconstruction of Chinese Literary Theory", "Science Fiction, Mythology and Multi-ethnic Literature in the Region of Tibetan, Qiang and Yi Corridor", "Variation Studies on Chinese and Foreign Literature Exchanges", "Roundtable on Semiotics, Narrative and Meaning", "Research on Ecological Literature and Ecological Literature and Art Theory in the Context of the Human World",  "Digital and Intelligent Media, Cultural Creativity and Social Governance", and "Oriental Literature and Mutual Learning of Civilizations". Nearly 300 experts and scholars from universities and colleges at home and abroad attended the conference online, with in-depth discussions on the theme of "Mutual Learning of Civilizations & Literary Communication".
