Recently, the CYLC Central Committee, China Telecom Group, and the All-China Students' Federation conducted a selection for "China Telecom Scholarships" of the year 2021. The results have been published so far. Jin Guanghao, a student from the School of Preclinical Medicine, and Tu Tangrui, a student from the Business School of CDU won “China Telecom Scholarships - Fei Young Awards" after recommendation by both the university and the city, provincial-level preliminary evaluation and national-level evaluation. The competition was held to thoroughly study and implement President Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, especially his important messages on youth work. It was regarded as a practice response to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s messages to Communist Youth League members at the conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Communist Youth League of China (CCYL) on selecting and recommending a group of models. The models are youth with great ambition and firm faith, who are hardworking and innovative, bold and intelligent, and devoted and unselfish, as well as noble and disciplined.
Mr. Jin Guanghao is a student of Clinical Medicine, School of Preclinical Medicine admitted in 2019. He is actively engaged in various volunteer service activities. He once served as the Vice President of the CDU Youth Volunteers Association and participated in "the participation of college students' fine volunteer service in community governance innovation project", which was awarded "Best Volunteer Service Project" of the "Learn from Lei Feng" national volunteer service campaign by the Publicity Department of the CPC. He also took part in the "Return Home" social practice-- offering volunteer service after Zhengzhou's "July 20" rainstorm. His volunteer service hours have added up to 520.5. Besides, Qin has won more than 10 other honors, including "The 9th Youth Volunteer Service — Outstanding Individual of Sichuan Province", "Comprehensive Quality Grade A Certificate for College Students of Sichuan Province", and one of "CDU Top Ten Communist Youth League Members". Moreover, he has actively participated in scientific research and innovation, publishing one paper. He was granted one utility model patent, and awarded a second prize of the National Life Science Competition for College Students, and a silver prize of the "Challenge Cup" Entrepreneurial Plan Competition for College Students of Sichuan Province 2022 among others.
Ms. Tu Tangrui is a student of business administration admitted in 2019. As the general manager of the Campus Telecom Students' Company, she organized and planned "Hundred-Regiment Campaign: Telecom 5G Car into Campus", and "Bestpay Public Welfare" activities, and was awarded "Outstanding Intern of China Telecom". She actively carried out innovation and entrepreneurship projects, serving as a campus ambassador of "PERFECT WORLD", "DOWELL" and "JDB" and promoting the implementation and development of the "BAI PIN XIAO SI" online mall. She also actively supported volunteer work, participating in the "Central Government Special Public Welfare Fund from Lottery - Hongzhi Aid Plan", and conducting volunteer campus network maintenance. Her volunteer service hours have exceeded 100.
It is reported that "China Telecom Scholarship" was jointly established by CYLC Central Committee, China Telecom Group and All-China Students' Federation in 2014. The Scholarship winners are selected from the current junior college students, undergraduates, master's degree candidates and doctoral candidates (excluding on-the-job postgraduates) of institutions of full-time non-adult education in China. The purpose is to carry out activities for developing and practicing the core socialist values among young students; to discover, set and publicize outstanding young students; to reward outstanding college students; to lead young students to develop and practice the core socialist values for the realization of the Chinese dream. For the year 2021, there are 98 winners of "China Telecom Scholarships: eSurfing Awards", RMB 20,000 per student; there are 1,486 winners of “China Telecom Scholarships - Fei Young Award”, RMB 5,000 per student.
