New Breakthrough: CDU's Another Discipline Included in the Top 1% of the ESI Global Disciplines Ranking

On November 10, Clarivate Analytics released the latest ESI Citation Thresholds, covering data from January 1, 2012, to August 31, 2022. As a new breakthrough, the Agricultural SciencesofChengdu University (CDU)became the second discipline to make it to the Top 1% of the ESI Global Disciplines Ranking after Engineering. Thismarks thatCDU's Agricultural Sciences hasbecome a world-class discipline,showing the academic strength and global influence ofCDU.

In the current ESI data, there are 371 articles counted in agricultural sciences, including 16 top articles, with a total of 3,389 citations, ranking 94th among Mainland universities and 3rd in Sichuan Province. New progress has been made in the Engineering discipline (with 49 Top papers, six new papers, a total of 6,982 citations, 867 new citations),whichranks 1,308th worldwide among 2,078 institutions on the list,movingup 91 places. In the ESI highly cited university ranking,CDU ranks 1,342nd worldwide, 126th nationwide, and 5th in the province.

In recent years,CDU has been focusing on talent cultivation and discipline building, applying for doctoral program accreditation, deepening the reform of the research system, and building peak disciplines. Efforts have been made to study major national economic and social strategies, especially those concerning regional development.It has launched basic research in regional industry clusters, pillar industries, and emerging industries, and invested heavily in scientific research, enhancing the academic atmosphere and stimulating the enthusiasm of researchers.CDU has witnessed growing achievements and outputs of scientific research, new breakthroughs in the application of doctoral program accreditation, the building of peak disciplines, and academic influence.
