CDU First Appears on US News 2023 World University Rankings, Ranking 198th in Chinese Mainland and 1,519th in the World

On October 25, US News released the 2023 World University Rankings, which included 2,165 universities from 95 countries and regions. A total of 382 Chinese universities are on the list, 338 of which are from the mainland. After being ranked in the top 100 universities in the Chinese mainlandon Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings for the first time last year, Chengdu University (CDU) first appeared on the US News 2023 World University Rankings this year, ranking 1,519th in the world, 514th in Asia and 198th in the Chinese mainland. Sichuan Province has 16 universities on the list, with CDU ranking 10th in the province.

CDU has been committed to improving the quality of talent training, scientific research innovation and social services to promote its high-quality development. It has been attracting excellent talents at home and abroad to strengthen its teaching team and improve its reputation. In 2022, CDU ranked 247th in Shanghai Ranking’s Best Chinese Universities Ranking. In the latest 2022 Nature Index rankings, it ranked sixth among universities and colleges in Sichuan Province, 139th among those in the Chinese mainland, and 591st worldwide. CDU's disciplines of engineering and agricultural science were listed in the top 1% of the Essential Science Indicators (ESI). In 2023 THE World University Rankings by subject, our clinical discipline ranked about 801st, with engineering discipline 501st-600th globally.
