On the morning of September 24, the 2022 High-end Forum themed "Telling Chinese Stories Well and Promoting the High-quality Development of Chinese Documentaries" was held online on the Tencent Meeting platform. The Forum was sponsored by the Media Research Institute of Chengdu University (CDU) and organized by the Documentary Research Center. Nearly 3,500 experts, scholars and industry insiders from worldwide universities and relevant associations gathered online through live streaming apps such as Tencent Meeting, Xueshuzhi and Bilibili.

Attendees in this Forum included Wang Qingyuan, Presidentof CDUand Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committeeof CDU; Tang Yiqian, Member of the CPC Standing Committee and Vice President of CDU, Zhang Xuemei, Director of the Social Sciences Department of CDU, and Ouyang Hongsheng, Dean of the Media Research Institute of CDU. The host of the opening ceremony was Tan Xiaoling, Dean of the College of Literature and Journalism and Vice Dean of the Media Research Institute of CDU.

Wang Qingyuan welcomed all the attendees on behalf of the university. He said that the Media Research Institute of CDU has made outstanding achievements in documentary research over the years, including the establishment of a documentary research center, the publication ofIntroduction to Documentary, Image Construction of New Documentary Filmsas well asdozens of academic papers on documentaries."HostingBeing able to holdthe Forum is a kind ofrecognitioncommendationofforthe long-term efforts made by the Media Research Institute in the field of documentary".

In Ouyang Hongsheng's speech, he stressed the importance of this Forum, saying it was of far-reaching significance to explore the idea "OTell stories originatingedfrominChinabut,belonging to the world, based on historywhile, andleading the future" in combination with the various thoughts of film and television art, communications, literature and art and other subjects.

After the opening ceremony,Tthe Forumwasofficially startedafter the opening ceremony. Fourteen experts delivered keynote speeches based on the theoretical studies, creation and dissemination of documentaries.
