Recently, the evaluation results of the 2021 postdoctoral innovation practice bases in Sichuan Province have been released. The postdoctoral innovation practice base of Chengdu University (CDU) stood out from more than 140 participating bases and became one of the 26 bases with the excellent grade in the evaluation results, ranking 4th among the excellent bases.
The CDU postdoctoral innovation practice base was formally established in April 2011 with the approval of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Sichuan Province. Later, CDU signed a joint postdoctoral training agreement with Sichuan University for postdoctoral education. The base recruits postdoctoral researchers through cooperating with postdoctoral research stations, and provides a platform for postdoctoral research work. The Office of the Postdoctoral Management Committee at CDU is set up in the Personnel Office, responsible for the daily management and service of the base. The University provides competitive remuneration for postdoctoral fellows in the base and sets up a special fund to support their research work in the base. In recent years, the base has attracted 21 postdoctoral fellows from home and abroad and achieved fruitful results, including nearly 10 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the China Postdoctoral Foundation. Postdoctoral fellows in the base have published more than 50 high-level research papers, attended more than 20 international academic conferences, and obtained more than 10 invention patents.
In the following three years, the University will focus on constructing an excellent grade base by promoting the reform, construction, and management of the base through evaluation. It will also strive to attract, cultivate and take the advantage of the talent, especially the innovative and outstanding talent, to establish a flexible talent management mechanism to facilitate the flow of talent, and promote collaboration among the government, industry, academic and research sectors. Furthermore, adhering to the principle of openness, equality, competition and merit-based selection, the University will continuously improve the construction capacity of the base through quality improvement, scale expansion, and system optimization.
