In July 2021, Chengdu University was approved to establish a high-level research team in Sichuan Province -- Sichuan Vocational Education and Industrial Development Research Team, according to a letter issued by the Sichuan Provincial Social Science Planning Office. The team will do a good job in management in accordance with the relevant provisions of Management Measures of Sichuan Provincial High-level Research Team Construction Plan in Social Science (Trial).

Sichuan Vocational Education and Industrial Development Research Team will adhere to the combination of theoretical construction and empirical reflection and base itself on regional industrial transformation and development needs and supply-side structural reform of vocational education. By comprehensively applying the theories of disciplines such as vocational education, education economics and public management, the exploration and research will mainly focus on aspects such as "Research on the Integrated Development Mechanism of Vocational Education in Industry-Education-City", "Research on the Cultivation of High-end Technical Talents" and "Research on the Supply of Public Education Services".

Through implementing the development orientation of Chengdu University according to the Opinions on Supporting Chengdu University to Build a Distinctive, Domestic First-class Applied Urban University, the Research Team will give full play to its disciplinary advantages and characteristics, actively serve the urban strategy, strengthen the docking and cooperation with the industrial ecosystem and industrial functional areas, accelerate the establishment of a high-level research team in the field, and fully promote the local application of scientific research achievements.
