On the afternoon of July 22, Chengdu University and Gachon University in South Korea held the second regular project operation meeting of this year. While summing up the teaching results of this semester, they also sorted out the tasks in the project operation process. It is expected topromote the healthy and smooth development of the project through regular and timely communication and exchanges between the two sides.Du Jie, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of Chengdu University and Dean of the Overseas Education College, Deng Lina, Associate Dean of the Overseas Education College, Luo Zhenghua, Associate Dean of the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, and Choi Kyeong-jin, Director of the International Exchange Office of Gachon University, led the related personnel in charge of the two universities' cooperative education project to attend the meeting.
Du Jie first summarized the related work launched since the first online meeting on May 31, and thanked all counterparts of Gachon University for their support to the project operation. She said that the establishment of an effective communication mechanism will deepen and expand the cooperation between the two universities.
Luo Zhenghua, on behalf of the professional colleges, summarized the online teaching results at Gachon University this semester. He said that he hopes to explore multi-level and multi-field exchanges and cooperation through visits between the professional colleges of the two universities after thepandemic is under control.
Choi Kyeong-jin affirmed the recent work carried out by the two universities. He said that Gachon University will actively cooperate with Chengdu University to advance the relevant work, establish an effective project operation mechanism, and build a broad platform for teachers and students of the two universities to communicate and learn.
Afterwards, the two sides discussed issues like the dispatch of foreign teachers, teaching arrangements, and the formulation of management rules of the Chinese-foreign cooperative education project for the next semester. At this meeting, the two sides reached a number of consensuses, clarified the next work plan, and will effectively fuel the operation of the project through various forms in the future.
The two universities signed a school-level exchange and cooperation agreement in March 2017, establishing their friendly ties. In 2019, the two universities jointly applied for a Chinese-foreign cooperative education project for undergraduates majoring in electrical engineering and automation. The project was approved by the Education Department of Sichuan Province in 2019 and approved by the Ministry of Education of P.R.C. in 2020. The first batch of 67 students were enrolled in the same year.
