In the afternoon of July 6, Linda King, vice chancellor of global partnerships and Sara Hannam, director of global partnerships of Oxford Brookes University, UK had a formal meeting with Peng Xiaolin, vice president of Chengdu University on the Chinese-foreign cooperative educational institution program between the two universities.

Peng Xiaolin introduced the history, development strategy, and the progress and milestones achieved in the development of Chengdu University in recent years. The head of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange introduced in detail the achievements in international exchange and cooperation, Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school and achievements in university-city exchange, inter-university exchange, and student exchange of Chengdu University.

King gave a presentation on the basic information and international strategic development goals of Oxford Brookes University, UK. Sara Hannam said that Oxford Brookes University attaches great importance to establishing and maintaining good partnerships with Chinese universities, and is confident that the successful experience accumulated over the years in conducting cooperative education programs with Chinese universities can actively promote the cooperative program with Chengdu University.

At the meeting, the two universities reported on the preliminary concept and planning of the proposed cooperative education institution of both sides on the advantages of the program, the establishment of the institution, positioning of the hierarchy, mode of operation, major settings, and the scale of operation. The two parties also had an in-depth and friendly exchange on the preparation of the proposed cooperative education institution.

Both institutions attached great importance to this upcoming cooperative institution program and agreed to carry out further research and demonstration on the program preparation, and plan to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the two institutions in the near future and make continuous efforts to promote the steady development of the program preparation work.

It is understood that the proposed cooperative institution program between Chengdu University and Oxford Brookes University, UK will further promote the multi-level, multi-layered, and high-standard development of the international exchange and cooperative education of Chengdu University.
