The Seminar on the Preparation of the Chengdu University-Future College of University of Edinburgh International Scientific Research and Innovation Center Was Held in Chengdu University

On the morning of January 11, President Wang Qingyuan had a detailed discussion and consultation with Dr Wang Lyv, Head of Asia Pacific Region of American Education Alliance in Conference Room 501 of the Administration Building, which centered on the establishment of the Chengdu University-Future College of University of Edinburgh International Scientific Research and Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the "International Science and Innovation Center").


 Wang Lyv introduced in detail the history, development vision, key areas, and leading figures of the Future College of the University of Edinburgh. He also reported on the possibility and framework of building an international research and innovation center by the Future College of the University of Edinburgh and Chengdu University, including the key research areas of the International Science and Innovation Center, the expected construction results, and the schedule of preparatory work, etc. It is expected to build a high-end international platform consisting of an international innovation fund, an international research center, an international transformation center and an international training center, so as to promote the exchange of talents and attract international wisdom. The scientific research team that integrates industry building with the transformation of scientific and technological cooperation results can reserve great energy for the talents cultivation and research development in Chengdu University.


Wang Qingyuan said that the introduction of the research team of the University of Edinburgh's Future College to Chengdu University and the establishment of the International Science and Technology Innovation Center are a new starting point for Chengdu University, and this process will further drive the high-level construction of Chengdu University. He suggested that by introducing the high-quality research resources of the Future College of the University of Edinburgh, combining the 14th Five-Year Plan, the 2035 vision of Chengdu, and the advantageous disciplines of Chengdu University, the International Science and Innovation Center should focus on the core areas of artificial intelligence, finance, technology, and biomedicine, highlighting the development and application of physical technologies, and realizing the effective alignment and integration of the innovation chain with the global industry chain. The Center will also contribute to the development of education, research, and industry in Chengdu.
