In order to inherit Chinese civilization and promote Chengdu culture, Chengdu College Student Choir held a special concert themed "Love Chengdu, Embrace the Universiade" in Chengdu City Concert Hall on the evening of January 9. This is the first special concert held by the choir since its establishment in April 2019. Eighty-three chorus members from Chengdu University, Sichuan University, Sichuan Normal University, Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Southwest Jiaotong University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Xihua University came together to sing the songs of youth, showing the charm of Chengdu's college students in the new era with high-level singing skills, and paying tribute to the construction of Chengdu as a musical city.

Under the guidance of the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcast-TV, and Tourism and the Chengdu Music and Film Industry Promotion Office, the event was hosted by the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts of Chengdu University and sponsored by OCT.

The concert was presided over by Xu Tao, a famous recitation artist, and conducted by Xiao Chao, Music Director of Chengdu College Student Choir and Permanent Conductor of Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, with He Bing, doctor of music, as the piano art director. The concert was presented in four chapters, including melodies that helped re-appreciate classical music and evoke the beautiful memories of childhood, songs with sincere and strong emotions and distinctive melody features, and choral works premiered by the choir.

The opening song "The Story of the Sichuan River" is the work of Chengdu College Students Choir that was granted the gold medal in the 10th World Peace Chorus Festival. This song, featuring the styles of Sichuan folk songs, Sichuan folk tunes and boatmen's work songs, focuses on expressing the optimistic, adventurous and indomitable spirit of Sichuan people. "The Old Story from Mom" vividly conveys the unstoppable love of mothers for their children. The song "Like a Snowflake from the Sky" uses personification to tell us a story about the integration of people with snowflakes and autumn leaves to express Mr. Xu Zhimo's vows about love, ideals and freedom. "The Snow", "Lake Baikal" and "Remember Me" lead audiences into an artistic world where Eastern and Western cultures are fused. "Entering Tianfu", "Ode to Tianfu" and "Yearning" present the charm of Chengdu as the "Land of Abundance" and the spiritual outlook of Chengdu people in the new period, expressing their cheerfulness for the coming Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. In addition, all audiences also joined the choir in singing the well-known song "Chengdu". This is the world premiere of the chorus version of "Chengdu".
