On December 5, the 5th Annual Conference of Chinese Animation Research and the Annual Summit of Animation and Digital Media Art Committee of the Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art (CCAVA) was held in the Fenghuangshan Campus of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts.

The conference was hosted by the Communication University of China, the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts and Contemporary Cinema, and undertaken by the Faculty of Film and Animation of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts, Sichuan Animation Research Center, China National (Sichuan) Center for Developing Animation, Cartoon & Game Industry, and Sichuan Province ACG Collaborative Innovation Center. The co-organizers include Animation and Digital Media Art Committee of the Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art, Animation Committee of Sichuan Radio and Television Society, Sichuan Netcasting Services Association, Sichuan Radio and Television Women and Children Channel, Animation Academic League of China Art Association, Chengdu Animation & Game Association, Chengdu Literature and Art Critics Association and Animation Committee of Chengdu Artists Association. More than 100 scholars and experts from more than 60 universities and industry in China, including Communication University of China, Beijing Film Academy, China Academy of Art, College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, attended the conference. Focusing on the theme of "Cross-border Integration - Academics and Industrialization of Domestic Animation", the annual conference is divided into the opening ceremony of the annual conference of animation studies, the opening ceremony of the main forum, the annual summit of the special expert committee, the forum on the integration of animation and digital media technology under the background of new liberal arts, and the forum on postgraduate education and postgraduates.

Summit site

The main forum of the annual conference is on the theme of “Opportunities and Challenges of Animation Major”. On the afternoon of the 5th, the second “Annual Summit of Animation and Future Images in Chinese Universities” was held by the Animation and Digital Media Art Committee of the CCAVA. During the round-table forum, the participants had a wonderful dialogue around the topic “Teachers as creators - the exploration and thinking of ‘academic’animation creation”. During the annual conference, the animation and digital media unit activities of the annual excellent works promotion activities of the CCAVA in 2021 were officially launched.  During the summit, the award-winning works of the animation unit in the annual excellent works promotion activities of the CCAVA and the works of the annual National Postgraduate Animation Competition were exhibited.
