Li Jian, a professor and master supervisor, is mainly engaged in the research of modern design of the mechanical structures, mechanical CAD/CAM, computer-integrated manufacturing technology, CNC technology and so on. Professor Li went to Camosun College, Canada for studying CAD technology from January 1988 to January 1989. In terms of higher education, he teaches on the courses of mechanical design for undergraduates. He first set up the mechanical major aiming at CAD/CAM in Chengdu University and acted as both the lecturer of main courses and the dissertation tutor. In terms of the research on teaching reform, he was the main leader of national-level projects on teaching reform, awarded the second-class Teaching Achievement Prize of the People's Government of Sichuan Province. The graduation design projects completed by his students were ever awarded several first-class Excellent Graduation Prizes. In terms of scientific research, centering on the research on modern design and processing ways of the spatial cam mechanism, he has carried out the research on digital modeling and CNC processing of mechanical structures. He participated in two projects respectively funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 863 Program, has presided over 4 provincial research projects which were completed or are ongoing, as well as 4 college-level research projects. He published over 20 research papers among which 12 were in the core journals and multiple papers were included in EI.
