On the morning of June 4, 2026, a delegation led by Ms. Maypi Torné, Vice Chancellor of La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL (Ramon Llull University), visited Chengdu University. Peng Xiaolin, Vice President of Chengdu University, met with the guests in Conference Room A316 of the Administrative Support Center.
Peng Xiaolin extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced Chengdu University's development in recent years and the outcomes of its internationalization. She noted that both universities place great emphasis on equipping students with future-ready competencies. With shared views on applied talent cultivation and technology-driven innovation and development, they enjoy broad prospects for cooperation. She expressed hope that both sides would focus on talent development and scientific research, working together to build a bridge of friendship and cooperation between China and Spain.
Ms. Maypi Torné expressed her appreciation to Chengdu University for its warm reception and praised its rapid development and achievements in internationalization. She gave an overview of Ramon Llull University, which ranks second among private universities in Spain in both the 2025 Times Higher Education and QS World University rankings. The university is distinguished by its emphasis on technology and innovation, closely integrated with industry. She noted that the two universities share strong alignment in academic structures and educational philosophy, and expressed hope that this visit would serve as a catalyst to solidify the foundation for future cooperation.
Both sides agreed that they are highly compatible in academic structures, internationalization strategies, and talent cultivation concepts. They expressed a shared commitment to building a higher-quality international exchange platform and jointly cultivating outstanding talents with global vision and competitiveness.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, the Institute for Advanced Studies, and the Stirling College of Chengdu University.
Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, the College of Computer Science, and the Business School attended the meeting.
