
On August 8, the "Chinese Bridge", an interactive experience zone to learn the language of Chinese, jointly organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education (CLEC) and Chengdu University, was officially launched at the 2025 Chengdu World Games Village on Friday.. Attending the event were Liu Jianqing, Deputy Director of CLEC; Su Bo, Executive Village Mayor of Zone A; along with athlete representatives from the United States, Denmark, Italy, and other countries, as well as village volunteers and staff representatives. Together, they witnessed the unveiling of the Experience Area.
The guests emphasized that both language and sports serve as vital carriers of human civilization. This Experience Area offers young athletes from around the world a chance to experience the charm of the Chinese language during their breaks from competition, deepening their understanding of Chinese culture and jointly building "bridges for language exchange, mutual understanding and trust, and mutual learning among civilizations." The "Chinese Bridge" acts as a bond promoting the globalization of Chinese language education and the revitalization of Chinese culture, enabling more international friends to see a real, multidimensional, and comprehensive China through Chengdu this year.

After the launch ceremony, the guests visited and took part in the experience area. The experience area features a variety of activities including getting a Chinese name, learning Chinese speaking, practicing Chinese calligraphy, cooking Chinese dishes, drawing panda, taking themed photos at Chinese-style photo booth, badge exchanging, and other Chinese language and cultural experiences. During the Games, the Experience Area is projected to welcome over 5,000 athletes and delegation officials from more than 100 countries and regions.
