Why is the Intangible Cultural Heritage Classroom + Smart Manufacturing Experience Popular among International Students?
Experiential courses highlighting traditional life philosophies such as classes of tea ceremony, Tai Chi, and traditional Chinese medicine; cross-cultural drama courses featuring A Dream Under the Southern Bough, along with the activities like archery and paddle boarding; hands-on activities with Chengdu’s intangible cultural heritage, such as Sichuan opera, tie-dyeing, bamboo weaving, and lacquer art; tour-themed practical activities associated with Tianfu Greenway Roundabout Ecological Zone, XGIMI, Tongwei, and other destinations for traveling in Chengdu; journeys into new rural areas such as Tianfu Weibo Village, Huguo Village, and Taoyuan Village...

The courses adopts a project-based leanring approach as its core, integrating social practice and volunteer services in the second classroom, weaving together traditional culture, modern smart manufacturing, and urban development into the "Great Ideological and Political Education" with practices for international students. Students steps into factory workshops and fields to witness the vibrant practice of Chinese modernization. Besides, they can resonate with Chinese culture and appreciate the charm of intangible cultural heritage through the artful expressions of Sichuan opera's face-changing skills, the vibrant colors of tie-dyeing, and the exquisite craftsmanship of bamboo weaving. They have transformed from being "tourists" to a part of this community, creating and sharing Chinese stories. In the classroom, an increasing number of international students sincerely express, "Although I am a foreigner, I no longer feel like an outsider."
