Vice President-Led Delegation from Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand, Visits Chengdu University

On the morning of November 13, 2024, Prit Supasetsiri, Vice President of Srinakharinwirot University, along with his delegation, engaged in exchanges at Chengdu University. Peng Xiaolin, Vice President of Chengdu University, warmly welcomed the guests in Meeting Room A102 of the Administrative Service Center. Discussions revolved around educational exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions.

Peng Xiaolin extended a cordial welcome to the delegation and provided a detailed overview of Chengdu University's history, academic disciplines, talent development programs, research initiatives, as well as collaboration with universities in Thailand. Emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship between China and Thailand, she acknowledged the significance of Thai universities as key educational partners of Chengdu University. Currently, Chengdu University maintains friendly partnerships with 41 higher education institutions in Thailand, engaging in diverse educational exchange and cooperation projects. This visit by Srinakharinwirot University marked their inaugural interaction with Chengdu University. She expected this visit to lay the groundwork for future collaborations, fostering extensive cooperation in student exchanges, faculty visits, and joint scientific research to enhance cultural and people-to-people ties between China and Thailand.

Prit Supasetsiri expressed gratitude for the warm reception and shared insights into Srinakharinwirot University's academic disciplines, majors, and accomplishments in talent development. He highlighted the university's commitment to excellence in education, having produced over 200,000 distinguished graduates, including Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, who are highly regarded by society. He underscored Srinakharinwirot University's focus on partnering with Chinese universities and will actively advance collaboration with Chengdu University through initiatives such as short-term student exchanges, joint training programs, faculty exchanges, and collaborative research endeavors to bolster educational cooperation between the two institutions.  

After the meeting, the delegation toured the campus and visited the Traditional Crafts Institute.

Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, College of Foreign Languages and Cultures, and College of Teachers participated in these activities.

Srinakharinwirot University, known as "Shida" in Chinese and "SWU" in English, is a prominent national institution of higher education in Thailand, authorized to issue degrees by the royal family. The university comprises two campuses: Prasarnmit Campus in downtown Bangkok and Ongkharak Campus in Nakhon Nayok Province.
