On December 14, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between the "National Supercomputer Center Chengdu and Chengdu University (CDU)" was held on our campus. Distinguished guests attending the ceremony included Ding Xiaobin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Chengdu Municipal Science & Technology Bureau, Qiu Xudong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Chengdu Future Science and Technology City, Yuan Shuiquan, Deputy General Manager of Chengdu Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd., Ran Hao, Chairman of Chengdu Data Group Co., Ltd., and Wang Jianbo, General Manager of Chengdu Supercomputer Center Operation Management Company.The signing ceremony was also attended by CDU's leaders, including Liu Qiang, Secretary of the Party Committee at CDU, Wang Qingyuan, President of CDU and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Tang Yiqian, Vice President of CDU and Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee.

On behalf of CDU, Wang Qingyuan expressed his gratitude to all the guests for their presence and introduced in detail the progress CDU has made in scientific research strength and international influence in recent years. He pointed out that building a digital China is important to promote the future development of the country. It is a major responsibility, mission, and opportunity given to CDU in the new era as CDU is actively planning for the connotative development of "a new leap after the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games". The National Supercomputer Center Chengdu (hereinafter referred to as "the Center"), which is of vital importance to China, serves as a major new scientific and technological infrastructure to support basic scientific research. It is also an essential platform for the development of big data and other industries. Supported by the Center's advanced computing power, CDU's digital development will significantly contribute to the technological innovation of both parties. He stressed that through deep cooperation with the Center, CDU will create an innovation ecosystem of industry, academia and research. Relevant departments and colleges of CDU will seize the opportunity, overcome challenges, and leverage their strengths to diligently implement initiatives, and establish and effectively utilize the CDU sub-center. Together, CDU and the Center will drive the transformation of scientific and technological advancements and foster the growth of the big data and AI industries in Chengdu, thus contributing to major national strategies of innovation-driven development, national revitalization through science and education, quality workforce development, and accelerating the development of a digital China.
In the presence of the attendees, Tang Yiqian, on behalf of CDU, and Wang Jianbo, on behalf of the Center, signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
Attendees also included heads from CDU's Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, Academic Affairs Office, Information Network Center, and relevant academic departments of sciences, as well as heads of the Chengdu Data Group Co., Ltd., the New Economy Bureau of Sichuan Tianfu New Area, and the Center.
