On the afternoon of October 31, Lee Kwang Ho, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chengdu, led a delegation to visit Chengdu University (CDU). Wang Qingyuan, President of CDU, cordially received the guests in the Reception Hall of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts. The two sides exchanged views on educational cooperation.
Wang Qingyuan, on behalf of CDU, warmly welcomed Consul General Lee Kwang Ho and congratulated the Korean delegation for their outstanding achievements in the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. He said that CDU is a comprehensive and application-oriented city university, always insisting on connotation development, reform and innovation, and quality enhancement. In recent years, CDU has made remarkable achievements in discipline construction, talent cultivation, scientific research, and international cooperation and exchange. It has been committed to further promoting Chinese-foreign cooperative education and enhancing the effectiveness of international talent cultivation. He pointed out that Chengdu University and Korean universities have a friendly foundation for exchange and cooperation. In the future, CDU will continue to work with South Korean universities and promote deeper exchanges and cooperation among teachers and students of the two countries.
Lee Kwang Ho expressed his gratitude to CDU for its warm reception. He said that South Korea and China have a long history of friendly exchanges. Strengthening cooperation in higher education between the two sides is conducive to the promotion of youth exchanges and people-to-people bonds, and is of great significance to the development of bilateral relations. He highly praised the outstanding achievements of CDU in talent cultivation, scientific research, and international cooperation, among others. He said that the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chengdu would fulfill its role as a bridge to actively promote all-round and in-depth cooperation between CDU and Korean universities.
The consuls from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chengdu, alongside relevant heads of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the College of Overseas Education at CDU, also attended the meeting.
