Recently, Professor Hu Ang, a foreign fellow of the Engineering Academy of Japan and Professor at the University of Tokyo, was appointed as Distinguished Academician and Honorary Dean at the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The appointment ceremony was held at the guest hall of Chengdu University (CDU). Wang Qingyuan, President of CDU, issued an appointment letter to Academician Hu Ang and signed the agreement with him.
Wang Qingyuan said that CDU has been implementing the strategy of strengthening itself with talent building for many years, leading to its leapfrog development. The School of Architecture and Civil Engineering is one of the largest engineering colleges in CDU. Academician Hu Ang is an internationally renowned expert with outstanding talent and his joining will boost the high-level development of the school. It is hoped that the school can further optimize its development goals, strengthen discipline and major development, and strive to cultivate more talent with excellence in various fields.
Hu Ang said that CDU has made remarkable achievements in recent years as a comprehensive university and it is his honor to be appointed as the university's distinguished academician and Honorary Dean at the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering. He added that he will get familiar with his work at the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering as soon as possible to perform his duties and contribute to the specialization development and talent training of various disciplines at the school.

Hu Ang, born in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, is a foreign fellow of the Engineering Academy of Japan and a Project Professor at the University of Tokyo. He is a fellow at St. Edmund Hall, University of Oxford, and a doctor, professor, and doctoral student supervisor in architecture at the University of Tokyo. He has presided over more than 20 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other major projects of the Asian Urban TOD Research, University of Tokyo.
