Mr. Fernando Parente, a member of the executive committee and director of the Healthy Campus and University Relations Department of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), visited Chengdu University on the morning of May 30th with his delegation. They were welcomed by Liu Qiang, Secretary of the CPC Chengdu University Committee, at the meeting hall of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts. The two sides held friendly talks on the "Healthy Campus" Proect of Chengdu University. Peng Xiaolin, Vice President of CDU, accompanied and received the guests.

On behalf of Chengdu University, Liu Qiang extended warm welcome to Mr. Fernando Parente and his delegation. Mr. Liu pointed out that the "Healthy Campus" program being carried out by the FISU on a global scale is very much in line with the development and educational philosophy of the university. Promoting the all-around healthy growth of students has always been the university's objective. Mr. Liu also introduced that the 31st FISU Summer World University Games Chengdu 2021 has brought crucial opportunities for the healthy development of the university. The university now has world-class sports facilities, medical hospitals, student cafeterias, and other infrastructure with an excellent student sports activity mechanism and high-level sporting competitions. Chengdu University has always attached great importance to and continued to improve the mechanism construction in areas such as the physical health of students, overall nutrition, prevention of mental illness, and integration with community health to enhance the construction of a "Healthy Campus" in the university and community. This reflects the high-quality level of university education in the construction of a "Healthy Campus".

Mr. Fernando Parente expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended to him and his delegation by the university. He mentioned that the "Healthy Campus" project proposed by the FISU is a health conception with the aim of facilitating all-round development of students. Mr. Fernando Parente emphasized that this project has a positive effect on enhancing the overall health education level of students in the university. Mr. Fernando Parente highly recognized the efforts made by Chengdu University in sports facilities construction, student nutrition, and other aspects. He especially praised the university's commitment to improving the health of local community residents and the vision and practices of the university in this regard. He believes that universities should share sports facilities with the community openly, and promote health education for community residents. He mentioned that the practices of Chengdu University fully align with the values of FISU's Healthy Campus Project. He expressed his willingness to work together with Chengdu University to continue promoting the implementation and international promotion of the Healthy Campus philosophy.

After the meeting, Peng Xiaolin accompanied the guests to visit the Medical Center of the University Games, Athletes' Restaurant, Volleyball Center, and other venues. The heads of the Physical Education College, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Logistics Department, and affiliated hospital also participated in the exchange activities.
