Good news came from the 2023 Sichuan Science and Technology Work Conference that Chengdu University (CDU)'s international science and technology cooperation base was rated as the "2022 Advanced Base for International Science and Technology Cooperation" by the Science & Technology Department of Sichuan Province.
The base was recognized as a national-level international science and technology cooperation base by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2009, mainly for international scientific and technological cooperation in the field of biomedicine. Since it was recognized, the College of Pharmacy and the Sichuan Industrial Institute of Antibiotics have carried out cooperative research in the fields of gene and protein, biocatalysis and biotransformation, selection of innovative microbial drugs, enzyme engineering drugs, minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer and orthopedic surgery, plant-derived innovative drugs and innovative marine drugs with Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, Israel, Canada, Germany, Israel, Thailand, and other countries. They have made a series of high-level scientific research achievements and overcome many critical technical difficulties. Through useful explorations in the cooperation mechanism, talent training, project introduction, and resource integration, the base has been accumulating experience and striving to be a regional international cooperation demonstration site.
In the next step, the base will take the opportunity of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games to expand the breadth and depth of international exchanges and cooperation, further accelerate the output of representative achievements and the condensation of advantages and characteristics, improve the quality of international high-level talent training, and build a regional demonstration site for international cooperation in accordance with the three development strategies of CDU's "talent strategy, characteristics strategy, and internationalization strategy" in the new era to promote the high-quality development of the university.
