Chaphiporn Kiatkachatharn Makes a Speech at the Symposium of High-end Foreign Experts in Sichuan Province

The Symposium of High-end Foreign Experts in Sichuan Province, organized by the Science & Technology Department of Sichuan Province, was held on the opening day of the 20th Western China Overseas Hi-tech and High Talents Conference on December 10, 2022.

Li Yunze, amember of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. The meeting affirmed the important contributions made by foreign expertsin promoting Sichuan's innovation-driven and high-quality development and emphasized the need to fully leverage Sichuan's scientific and technological resources. By thoroughly studying and implementing the instructions of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the meeting proposed to improve the policy environment for foreign experts to work and exchange in Sichuan and transform our overseas talent and technological advantages into high-quality development.

Chaphiporn Kiatkachatharn, a Thai expert at Chengdu University (CDU) and winner of the Chinese Government Friendship Award, the Sichuan Friendship Award and the Jinsha Friendship Award, was invited tomake a speech as one of the three foreign expert representatives,sharing his work and life in Sichuan.

" I have lived in Sichuan for 16 years, and this is a proud experience for me," said Chaphiporn Kiatkachatharn, "Behind the honor is hard work and pressure, and it also makes me think more about my future work andreflect onhow to contribute more." He said that China's leading high-tech technologies have brought convenience to people's lives in many ways. Only by carrying forward these high and new technologies in cooperation and exchanges can we make the science and technology progress benefit all mankind.

Referring to the cooperation and exchanges between China and Thailand, Chaphiporn Kiatkachatharn said that the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China have signed cooperation agreements in many scientific fields, such as information and communication technology, agricultural technology, biotechnology and medicine. He noted that next, he would promote academic cooperation in geology between the two countries. Based on his working and living experience in Sichuan, he put forward suggestions for further improving the expert work.
