CDU Students Win Second Prize of the 17th National Smart Car Competition for University Students

On August 25, the final of the 17th National Smart Car Competition for University Students came to an end, and the winners were announced recently. It is reported that 515 teams from more than 200 colleges and universities across China competed in the national final. Due to the epidemic, the national final was launched online and offline. One Smart Car Team of CDU attended the final.

The Smart Car Team had begun to prepare for the competition since November 2021. It got through the selection competition of CDU, the Smart Car Competition for University Students in Sichuan Province, and the National Smart Car Competition for University Students (West China). The team eventually entered the national final. After fierce competition, Qinglong Lake Team 1 (instructors: Chen Eryang and Luo Junyi), consisting of students Zhang Kaixing, Liu Yi and Li Xinyi, won the second prize in the four-wheel camera group, which was the second time the team has won national awards in this competition after six years since 2016.

It is reported that the National Smart Car Competition for University Students is a creative S&T competition featuring smart cars, an exploratory engineering practice event for university students nationwide. To date, 17competitionshave been hosted, involving over 350,000 students. It is one of the university student S&T competitions advocated by the Ministry of Education, and one of the most competitive university student competitions. The competition consists of eight divisions nationwide, including North China, South China, Northeast China and West China, and top 15% of the teams from each division could get through to the national final.
