On June 1, Times Higher Education (THE) revealed THE Asia University Rankings 2022. A total of 616 universities from 31 countries/regions across Asia were ranked this year, and Chengdu University (CDU) is included for the first time, with a rank of 351st-400th among Asian universities and colleges, and 86th-92nd among those on the Chinese mainland.

As a young city university, CDU focuses on its school-running positioning as an application-oriented, domestically first-class, and internationally renowned university with distinctive characteristics. Based on this, it has vigorously implemented its talent strategy, characteristic strategy and internationalization strategy, which brings significant improvement to its education quality, scientific research capacity and international reputation. CDU has been listed in several important university rankings in 2022. The vigor and strength of CDU are well-reflected in its high ranking, even if it's the university's first appearance on the list.

The 13 indicators used in THE Asia University Rankings are the same as THE World University Rankings, but the weight of indexes is adjusted to reflect the priorities of Asian universities. The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: teaching (25%); research (30%); citations (30%); international outlook (7.5%); and industry income (7.5%), so as to provide a comprehensive and balanced evaluation of universities. To qualify for THE Asia University Rankings 2022, universities must be ranked in 2022 THE World University Rankings.
