German Expert Delivers a Special Lecture to Postgraduates from Key Laboratory

On December 14, 2021, Dr. Carsten Jaekel, Chief Financial Officer of Tönnies Holding, and specially-invited researcher of the Key Laboratory for Meat Processing of Sichuan Province, delivered a special lecture on "From career choice to career life" for postgraduates from the School of Food and Biological Engineering, Chengdu University. He also had discussions with postgraduates during the lecture. This is part of Dr. Carsten Jaekel's work participating in the Sino-Germany collaborative scientific research and talent cultivation work as an external Research Fellow of our laboratory.


   
Dr. Carsten Jaekel introduced the German engineering practice cultivation mode and employment choices to the postgraduates and analyzed the hot demand for professional talents of enterprises in the context of globalization based on his working experience in Germany's largest meat enterprise and Sichuan-Germany cooperation project — Tönnies and Dekon pig intensive processing project. He also proposed some suggestions for postgraduates to broaden their horizons, improve their learning ability and communication skills, and combine their aspirations with the demand of the industry. Finally, Dr. Carsten Jaekel hoped that the postgraduate students in the School of Food and Biological Engineering, Chengdu University could showcase their academic strengths to actively participate in the Sino-German cooperation projects, and even become members of Dekon-Tönnies enterprise to promote the development of the Sino-German meat industry.
