School of Computer Science Selected as Official Member of the National Demonstration Software Institute Alliance

On November 18, the School of Computer Science of Chengdu University received the approval of the National Demonstration Software Institute Alliance, and the approval document demonstrates that after discussion and unanimous approval at the chairman meeting of the Alliance, the School of Computer Science was approved to become a member of the Alliance. This marks that the School has officially become one of the more than 100 first-class Demonstration Colleges of the Alliance.

After joining the National Demonstration Software Institute Alliance, the School will participate in various conferences and activities organized by the Alliance to enhance the influence and popularity of the School and the University, actively strengthen exchanges and learning with domestic first-class universities to further improve the School's talent training quality and scientific management capacity, and promote the discipline construction and professional development of the School to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent deepening of the connotative development of the School.

In order to meet the requirements of the strategic adjustment of China's economic structure and the urgent needs for talent in the development of the software industry, and to realize the leap-forward development of software talent training in China, the Ministry of Education and the National Development and Reform Commission have jointly decided to adopt multiple policies to support the trial operation of demonstration software institutes for some colleges and universities. In accordance with the message of the relevant documents of the State Council and the relevant policies of the national education system reform pilot work, with the approval of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, the National Demonstration Software Institute Alliance was formally established on November 3, 2014. The Alliance consists of more than 100 first-class demonstration software colleges, including the School of Software and Microelectronics of Peking University, the School of Software of Tsinghua University, and the School of Software Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University. Adhering to the principles of equality and mutual benefit, complementary advantages, resource sharing, and win-win cooperation, the Alliance integrates resources for talent training and industrial development of relevant universities to jointly promote national software talent training and software industry development.
