On March 17, the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Award Conference was held in Chengdu. Peng Qinghua, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and Huang Qiang, Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the conference and presented awards to the scientific researchers who won prizes. Chengdu University won five awards.
Among the winning projects of the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2020, Chengdu University won one first prize, two second prizes and two third prizes, of which four took it as the first unit. It ranked 8th among all universities (including universities under the central government) in Sichuan in terms of the number of winning awards as the first unit. In 2020, it won 16 nominations due to its achievements, including nine nominations as the first unit.
