Delegation from Office of International Cooperation and Exchange Went to the Future Science and Technology City of High-tech Zone to Investigate the "14th Five-Year Plan" Major Projects of International Education and Research Cooperation

In the afternoon of January 27, Du Jie, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of Chengdu University, and Mu Lei, Deputy Director of the Office, went to the Future Science and Technology City in the High-Tech Zone of Chengdu with Dr. Wang Lyv, Head of Asia Pacific Region of American Education Alliance, for research and study. Guan Xu, Head of the first preparation group of the Future Science and Technology City Administration of Chengdu High-tech Zone, and Zu Qingjun, Deputy head of the first preparatory group and also Chairman of Future Science and Technology City Group, and the responsible persons of the industrial attended the research seminar with responsible people from the industry development group and planning management group.

 Du Jie expressed gratitude to Mr. Guan Xu for his warm reception and introduced the recent implementation of Chengdu University's international development strategy and the condition of the Chengdu University-Edinburgh University Future College International Research and Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the "International Science and Innovation Center"). With the hope of introducing high-quality research resources from world-class universities to Chengdu and speeding up the international research cooperation, she was optimistic about the center, which can contribute to the high-quality development of Chengdu's emerging economy and the deepening of international education and research cooperation.

Wang Lyv introduced in detail the history, development vision, key areas, and leading figures of the Future College of the University of Edinburgh. He also reported on the framework concept of building an International Research and Innovation Center by the Future College of the University of Edinburgh and Chengdu University, including the key research areas of the international science and innovation center, the expected construction results and the schedule of preparatory work, etc. It is expected to build a high-end international platform consisting of an international innovation fund, an international research center, an international transformation centre and an international training center, so as to promote the exchange of talents and attract international wisdom. The scientific research team that integrates industry building with the transformation of scientific and technological cooperation results can reserve great energy for the talents cultivation and research development in Chengdu.

Guan Xu spoke highly of the internationalization level of Chengdu University and expressed his warm welcome to the International Science and Innovation Center that settles in the International Science and Education City in the Future Science and Technology City of the High-tech Zone. He introduced in detail the four projects of Chengdu Future Science and Technology City, with the special emphasis on the principles of "government-led, market-oriented and commercial logic" that the International Science and Education City adheres to. The Foton TOD project and science and education resources will be regarded as the focus to promote the development and construction of the start-up area of the Future Science and Technology City.
 Mr. Zu Qingjun strongly endorsed the fact that the International Science and Innovation Center develops while artificial intelligence, finance, technology, and biomedicine are at its core. He gave a detailed introduction of the "Minshan Action" from the pioneering research institute in Chengdu Hi-tech Zone, focusing on the implementation background, development objectives, support policies and basic requirements, and made valuable suggestions for the International Science and Innovation Center.

Then, both of them discussed the next preparatory work of the International Science and Technology Innovation Center and the landing of Sino-foreign cooperative education projects in the International Science and Innovation Center. Through this research and study, staff from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange has further clarified the path for the applied city universities to integrate into the city and the Sino-foreign integration, and further improved the formation concept of major projects in the 14th Five-Year Plan for international cooperation and exchange.
