Winners: Tang Yiqian (President's Office), Chen Lin, Shi Ya, Yan Yan

Type: Monograph

Ranking of our university: First completion unit

The Study on the Integration of Disciplines and Majors in Local Colleges and Universities is the research publication of the “Research on the Strategy of Integration of Disciplines and Majors in Local Colleges and Universities in Sichuan Province in the Context of ‘Double First-Class’ Initiative” (approval number: SC16A001), a key project of the 13th Five-Year Plan on Sichuan's philosophy and social science research in 2016.

The project was completed with the approval of Sichuan Provincial Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences in December 2017. Based on the important demand of the connotation development of local undergraduate colleges (hereinafter referred to as “local colleges”), which account for about 90% of the undergraduate colleges nationwide, this publication presents a development approach to discipline-major integration, and addresses strategic problems of local colleges in “Double First-Class” construction on theoretical and practical levels. On the theoretical level, this publication, on the basis of combing the concepts and theories related to disciplines and majors, analyzes the dialectical relationship between discipline construction and major construction, and constructs the theoretical system of discipline-major integrated construction based on the concept of "optimization and common progress". On the practical level, based on the current state of discipline and major construction in local colleges, this publication systematically studies the possibility and feasibility of carrying out discipline-major integrated construction in local colleges, and proposes a suitable construction plan. At the same time, this work presents the future trend of discipline and major construction in local colleges against the background of the "Double First-Class" Initiative. This not only provides an important reference for local colleges to re-examine their own discipline and major construction, but also provides a decision-making basis for their "Double First-Class" construction.

The Spreading and Influence of Marxism in Thailand

Winners: Du Jie (School of Marxism and College of Overseas Education)

Type: Monograph

Ranking of our university: First completion unit

On the basis of a large amount of literature, especially foreign literature, this monograph adheres to Marxist standpoints and methods and focuses primarily on the localization of Marxism in Thailand to objectively detail the history of Marxist communication in Thailand in the 20th century, examine the main context of Marxism communication and the role and influence of basic forces in Thailand, explain the historical reasons for the phased achievements, interruptions and ultimate failure of Marxism localization in Thailand, and analyze its historical influence and political and cultural heritage in contemporary Thai society.

Of the global Chinese-language academic world this monograph is the first systematic research work with the history of Marxist communication and the history of communist movement of Thailand as the main line. It has reversed the situation where there have been a variety of publications on this topic in the Western literature but a lack of research in the Chinese context, thereby resulting in biasedand Western dominantresearch findings. The monograph summarizes the "Thai" characteristics of the localization of Marxism in Thailand as well as the valuable experience and lessons from the spread of Marxism, and enhances the richness and integrity of the studies of the communist movement in the world, especially in the Third World countries. The author insists on applying Marxist standpoints and methods in the analysis of the current political instability and the social polarization and division in Thailand. Especially, the essence and crux of the contemporary social contradictions in Thailand are examined from Marxist class viewpoints. It is pointed out that frequent coups are in fact factional fighting led by the ruling class using the struggle power and potential of the ruled class, and that massive people's movements are nothing but disguised class struggles.
