Experimental and Engineering Training Center

The Experimental and Engineering Training Center is a teaching and research laboratory under the School of Mechanical Engineering, which provides teaching and scientific research experiment software and hardware for teachers and students. Guided by the "student-oriented" concept and the construction idea of "all-round professional talent training", the school puts forward the "industry-oriented and four-in-one (government, industries, universities and research institutes) cultivation model for high-quality applied talent training". Besides, the school attaches great importance to cultivating students' application ability of engineering technology, and has established a three-echelon practical teaching system of "Laboratory-Engineering Training Center-Enterprise (Teaching Practice Base)".

The laboratory has a total of 27 teaching laboratories and a university-level engineering training center, with the current teaching experiment area of 5,420 square meters and 2,856 sets of equipment valuing more than RMB 25 million. These teaching laboratories offer 37 experimental courses and 173 experimental projects for majors of Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Material Forming and Control Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology and Instrumentation. The experiment completion rate is 100%, and students spend approximately 120,000 hours in total on experimental practice per year. The Engineering Training Center is geared to providing engineering training practice for students majoring in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Material Forming and Control Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology and Instrumentation and Vehicle Engineering in the School of Mechanical Engineering, as well as Automation, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Automation Technology in the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering. The professional vehicle laboratory and engineering training center are also available for teachers and students of the whole university. The students are encouraged to participate in the National College Mechanical Innovation Competition, Engineering Training Competition, and "Zeiss-Metallographic Society Cup" National Metallographic Skills Competition for College Students.

For years of construction and development, the laboratory has formed a sustainable development mechanism that coordinates teaching, scientific research, scientific research services, and training based on practical teaching. It has developed into a basic experimental center with excellent teaching infrastructure, good teaching management, various benefits for students, and strong demonstration and radiation effects.
