Cao Shenghua, second-grade professor, is the expert entitled to Special Government Allowance of the State Council and chief expert of Sichuan Antibiotic Industry Research Institute. His main research interests are drug discovery and production technology research. Professor Cao has developed the manufacturing techniques of more than 20 new drugs, such as Rifampin, Rifampicin, Roxithromycin, Epirubicin, and Eeftrimazine. In 1996, he was rated as the National Advanced Individual in the national medical and health system and the Star Pacesetter of Science and Technology in Chengdu. In 1997, he was awarded as the model worker of the national medical system. He has won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Awards twice and the third prize of Sichuan Science and technology Progress Awards thrice. He has published more than 40 academic papers and obtained a number of authorized patents.
